Wonder. A Poem.

Poem number….. Well hey! I don’t have to number them any more!  A poem for the heck of it!  The prompt “Bubble.”  I could not resist.

Summer Wonders

I close my eyes and hear
Summer sounds,
Boats,
Float planes.
Children laughing.
Dogs barking,
Birds.
Coming from the field,
A ball hits the bat,
"Ping" when they meet,
Cheers.

I breathe deeply and smell
Summer scents,
Cut grass,
The ocean, it is low tide
The rich smell of
Sun warmed earth,
Flowers.
Neighbors dinner,
Barbecue.

I open my eyes and see
Summer sights,
Wonders.
A skiff cuts a swath
In the water.
A glistening "V."
Clusters of bubbles,
Float dreamily.
A perfect
Summer
Day.
