Because April is poetry month… A poem a day.
(I do get that this is sappy, but it is what kept floating to the top of my mind, today for poem #3. I couldn’t make it go away.)
Weston Sloppy wet baby kissesSticky hand on my cheek Wondering eyes, Wide and curious. Rosy Cheeks, warm skin. Sturdy body tucked Under my arm. Golden hair, halo catching light. Oh Joy! A little scar, Perfect, On his brow Shows that he is not Afraid. That he is fearless, Maybe reckless, Running and Laughing. Exploring this Big world. OH JOY!
Sticky hand on my cheek
Wondering eyes,
Wide and curious.
Rosy Cheeks, warm skin.
Sturdy body tucked
Under my arm.
Golden hair, halo
catching light.
Oh Joy!
A little scar,
Perfect,
On his brow
Shows that he is not
Afraid.
That he is fearless,
Maybe reckless,
Running and Laughing.
Brings back memories!!
