It took me till noon to realize what was happening. I was on my fifth or sixth phone call, twenty-fifth text message, and my tenth email; between that, there was some pinteresting and googling. When I took a break because my little dog asked me to take her for a walk, I realized it was noon, and I had spent the entire morning at “command central” and was multi-tasking like a champ. Honestly? It was a little bit of a thrill.
It was the kind of morning that when Scott gets home and asks what I did, I say, “It was busy, you know, texting, emailing, phone-call kind of busy,” and it sounds lame. It sounds like I was just lounging around, chatting with friends. LOL
In any case, I realized I had accomplished the following…
Texts from Garden Club members, organizing our Feb. 8 meeting, and getting the info I needed to create an agenda and social media advertising.
Fielded texts/emails/phone-calls – lots of them – about a play I will be costuming in May. The energy level on this one was high! A play with a cast of what looks like SIXTY. The cast list came out last night, and we were shooting interest and Google pics wildly to each other. Lots more about that later – I-am-sure.
Quilt guild emails. Not hard, but as I take over the email group, I had to create a gmail group of my own ~ Working carefully to not miss anyone or invert any email addresses. Just a *little* nervous because this was my first communication with the group as the new co-president with HUGE shoes to fill.
In the middle of that, my daughter was reaching out with a mid-life crisis—not really—but she was asking those big life questions we all have, those questions that require you to put the other things aside and give them careful consideration. My other daughter was sending my pictures of her new curtains that I had to stop and admire, with only a little advice to “steam out the wrinkles.” Text messages to confirm the dog’s vet appointment. And speaking of family, I have had Scott in my thoughts today as he has an important day at work – he is in court, which doesn’t happen a lot, and he has been diligently preparing, working at night, on the weekend and it all comes down to today.
It’s 12:04. My phone has not buzzed in the last half hour. There have been no new emails or communication. I have a costume fitting at 2:00 and then another at 5:00. I will try to shop in between and run to the post office, but for the next two hours, I might get to take little Birdy on a long walk. It’s a beautiful day after all!

Blogging this afternoon before I get some fresh air. One last cup-o-coffee for the day.
