Poem #30

Last poem for my (self imposed) poetry challenge.  Poem #30. Prompt: Astonish…. You would think I could find a way to use it, but did not.  *oh well*

-1

The house quiets,
I take one last
Look
Out of the
Window.

I pause.

Golden light
Explodes and
Burns
From behind
Mountains.

A fiery kind of orange.

Trees stand dark,
Feathery branches
Silhouetted
by the setting
Sun.

Black mountains, gray.

My hand stills,
Hesitates, and then
Reluctantly
Closes the
Blind.
